Get this video at Interweavestore.com! Turn an old, chipped plate into a one-of-a-kind, professional piece of jewelry that is sure to become an heirloom. Join jewelry expert Laura Beth Love and learn how to cut porcelain with a glass saw, apply copper foil for soldering, and how to polish your finished piece to a shine.

My name is Laura Beth Love and I design jewelry. My designs incorporate a variety of unique and unusual salvaged/upcycled materials.

I am most known for my jewelry made from broken vintage china. My jewelry is recognizable by my signature style of silver soldering and beaded solder details, a technique which takes years to master. All of the china that I use for this jewelry is previously damaged, either from age, use, or both.

Broken china jewelry is heirloom quality and expertly handcrafted in my studio from start to finish. I (literally!) wrote the book on how to make broken china jewelry. I am the author of Boho Chic Jewelry: 25 Timeless Designs Using Soldering, Beading, Wire Wrapping, and More (2014), and Soldered Alchemy (2015), and several DIY DVDs. My broken china jewelry has also been featured in Country Living Magazine, Crafts Report, and most recently, Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist Magazine. Visit dishfunctionaldesigns.com.
